Space Baron Episode #6

SPACE BARON('s sidekick) in The Journey

- By Karl

Brian was crawling across a vast, flat, featureless expanse of ground. He had been doing this for several days. His mind was awsah with hallucinations of water just ahead, and the food that he might consume, and of Space Baron, who was waiting for him at his destination. The hope that he would see SB again was what hardened his resolve to press on each time the thought crossed his mind to abandon his journey and submit to the overpowering will of the elements.

Brian found the mental strain of the lonely journey near unbearable. The harsh sun pounded his back, the ragged remains of his clothes offering no protection. Due to his dehydrated state he was sometimes unaware of how far he had travelled. Sometimes it seemed forever, other times it seemed he had only just begun.

But (to cut a potentially long story short), his destination was finally within view. Brian had made it. Space Baron stood at the end of Wendy's huuuuge pool table leaning on his cue.

"S-Space Baron," Brian gasped in a dry, coarse voice, "I have made it. Next time could you not hit the ball all the way to the other end of the table?"

Space Baron ignored this request, "Brian, where's your cue?" he asked.

Brian looked around stupidly. "Um, I must have left it at the other end," he said, "Can I borrow yours?"

"No." Space Baron was blunt, "go and get yours."

Brian sighed, and turned to begin the long journey again.
